What are eyelash extensions?
Lash Cartel eyelash extensions are made up of singular synthetic lashes applied directly to an individual natural lash. Available in different lengths, curls and thickness to suit your desired look whilst maintaining the optimum health of your natural lashes.
What are eyelash extensions made of?
At Lash Cartel we use a premium Poly Fibre Blend lash. Ranging in length, curl, weight and finish, our lashes are heat treated and sanitised thus allowing better retention, less damage through wear and tear and no loss of shape over time.
*Lash Cartel does not and will not use real animal fur including and not limited to mink for our eyelash extensions.
How long do eyelash extensions last for?
Eyelash extensions can last up to 6 weeks depending on your lash cycle, maintenance and at home care. As your natural lashes have a life cycle of 60 – 90 days, your extensions will shed as per your natural lash cycle. We recommend refills every 2-4 weeks to maintain consistency.
Will eyelash extensions damage my own natural lashes?
No! When applied correctly eyelash extensions will never damage your natural lashes. As a specialist in the industry Lash Cartel applies each individual extension to an individual lash just above the lash line never touching the skin. Using only premium products, we will design your desired set using the correct weight length and curl of extensions to ensure the ongoing good health of your natural lashes.
What is a refill?
A refill appointment at Lash Cartel is where we will tidy your lashes, removing any extensions that have regrowth from the natural lash, or have dislodged through where and tear. We will then lash any new growth so your extensions are the amount you started with. You can also upgrade to a fuller set at a refill appointment if your naturalist will allow.
Can I wear mascara with my eyelash extensions?
One of the most attractive benefits of having eyelash extensions is you will never have to wear mascara again. However if you do decide you would like to use mascara we recommend using products specifically designed for Classic eyelash extensions available to purchase in studio and online through Lash Cartel.
Mascara can not be worn with Volume lashes
Do I need to clean my lashes ?
It is very important to keep your lashes clean from bacteria, dust , protein, oils, makeup, etc. After the initial 24hr period, we highly advise to cleanse your lashes min 2-3 times per week. (in shower using a soft makeup brush or foam) We recommend using Lash Collection, Eyelash and Brow Cleanser available to purchase in studio and online through Lash Cartel.
Can I get my lashes wet?
Yes! And you should only after you have waited the initial 24hour period.
Excessive water exposure, like swimming everyday may reduce your retention, this just means coming in for refills more regularly.
Do eyelash extensions hurt?
Absolutely Not! Eyelash extensions should never cause any discomfort or hurt you in anyway. Ideally you should not be able to feel them, at Lash Cartel your eyelash extensions will feel seamless and lightweight.
Are eyelash extension safe?
At Lash Cartel we use only premium products, medical grade adhesive and sterilised equipment and supplies.
We specialise in eyelash extensions, so rest assured you will be in good hands.
Can I have an allergic reaction?
The fact that eyelash extensions are applied to the lashes and not to the skin makes reactions extremely rare.
There is no way to tell if and when a person will have an allergic reaction unless already observed. Reactions can present themselves straight away or develop over time.
At Lash Cartel in your initial consultation / assessment we ask detailed questions to identify if you are a suitable candidate for eyelash extensions.
In the event you do suffer an allergic reaction we offer free removal with 48 hours.
*Please note if you are concerned about having an allergic reaction, we do offer a patch test, minimum 48hours before your appointment. During this time we will apply the under eye pads and 5-10 eyelash extensions to each eye using all of the products we would for a full lash service.
